E-Safety
Here at Moulsecoomb Primary School, the safety of our community is our top priority. During these challenging times, while more time is spent communicating with loved ones, learning and having fun using the internet, we want to provide you with resources to keep safe and to encourage all pupils to bring their learning home with them: to be Online-SMART!

Whilst in school, we deliver engaging and clear e-safety lessons in each year group. Below are links to support your child with using that learning at home.
For Students:

The Jessie & Friends animations are age-appropriate and do not depict any situations where adults communicate with children online. Instead, they show safe, non-scary situations which help young viewers identify things which might worry them online.

For Parents and Carers:

Top Tips to keep in mind:
- In the home, include all mobile devices in your discussions that may allow internet access, particularly phones and gaming machines.
- Remember: you have to be 13 to open a social media account but it is estimated that about a third of 9-12 year olds have an account. Research by the NSPCC claims that only 3% of nine year olds whose parents say they are not allowed on social media still have an account! Have that conversation and you can very powerfully influence their actions.
- If, for whatever reason, your child has such an account ensure that the privacy settings are stringent and often monitored.
- Pictures or videos posted online can be near-impossible to remove from the internet so agree to a system where you jointly discuss and decide before any media is shared.

Jigsaw is a short film from CEOP that enables children to understand that they need to be just as protective of their personal information online, as they are in the real world. Aimed at children aged 8-10.

The NSPCC site Share Aware has some hard-hitting but age appropriate video aimed at upper junior school children. Unsurprisingly, the theme is taking care what you share.
The NSPCC site Net Aware has some excellent advice and information about social media and gaming including the very popular Fortnite.
