Year 3 Home Learning page

Dear Parents/ Carers

Whilst your children are not at school, it would be beneficial for them to continue their learning at home. Practising maths (calculations, times tables etc), writing, spellings and reading daily will keep their learning fresh in their minds and help keep them occupied. Below are suggested activities or websites the children use at school and can continue to use at home.

How to log in: visit website, put in teacher’s email address

Individual login details in pack. Also in the pack are words the children should be able to spell by the end of their primary education. They can practise these spellings in a variety of ways:

Ransom notes – Using magazines or newspapers, find the letters you need, cut them up and stick/place them in order to spell the word.

Rainbow words – Choose a coloured pencil or pen and write the spelling word. Then pick another colour and write over the top. Repeat until you have used seven colours.

Bubble/Graffiti writing – Practise the spelling words by drawing the words in as many different ways as you can.

Times Tables:

There is a Multiplication grid in the pack which will help children practise their times tables. This is an important skill to practise. Children in year 3 are expected to have learned 2’s, 3’s, 4’s 5’s, 8’s and 10’s times tables including the corresponding division facts e.g 3 x 4 = 12 , 12 ÷3 = 4, 12 ÷4 = 3.

BBC supermovers - - has a selection of fun dance along videos that help with the practicing of this. - (multiplication tables – teacher can monitor and set tasks)

How to login: Visit website, enter school postcode (BN2 4PA). Individual logins in pack.

We hope this is helpful – all of the resources mentioned are useful and will support your child’s learning if used regularly.
